A recent survey suggests that one of the main reasons for students in higher education deciding not to move abroad for their studies is a lack of information.
The research conducted by the British Council found that more than half of the 20 per cent of students considering making the leap to another country found it difficult to get hold of the relevant information.
A survey of more than 10,000 students found that just two per cent in higher education had experience of studying overseas. Concerns about how much it will cost and language difficulties were among the top reasons for students to decide not to move to another country to further their education.
However, of the top ten favorite destinations seven do not have English as their first language. The higher tuition fees in the UK have only affected the decision of around a quarter of those thinking of studying abroad. The majority said that studying in another country was something they would do to enhance their ability to stand out in the job market.
Some 44 per cent of students in the UK who are looking to make the move to another country admitted that the wanted to work for a multi-national company.
